“Everything is possible. Don’t stop dreaming. You can do it.” With emotion and passion for music and art, Adriana Linares shared stories and explained the characteristics of her instrument, the viola, while she was performing Brahms, the iconic theme from Star Wars, and even encouraged the students of San Miguel to dance Caribbean salsa.

The Quartet, recognized as the Ensemble of the Year, a prestigious recognition, awarded by the Chamber Music of America, visited Tulsa. A very busy schedule, which included presentations at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, concerts with the children and youth of Sistema Tulsa, as well as a very special surprise at San Miguel School, in the heart of the Kendall Whittier neighborhood.

This outstanding program was made possible by the Chamber Music Tulsa, led by Bruce Sorrell, Executive Director.

“Music opens doors for you. It gives you many opportunities and makes you very happy,” explained Carlos Rubio, violinist, while telling the students that when he began to be interested in music in his native Venezuela, he started with the flute.

Puerto Rico and Minnesota complete the famous Quartet, with Jesús Morales, who plays the Cello, and Ari Isaacman-Beck, first violin.

All of them are part of the faculty at West Chester University in Philadelphia.
